The Championship was shortened from 72 holes to 54 following heavy overnight rain which left the course unplayable.

The staff at Bangor worked tirelessly to enable play to eventually get under way at 10am. The late start did not affect the scoring with the eventual winner carding a three round total of 211 (-2) only one shot ahead of 5 other players including Jake Rowe (Tandragee) who shot a commendable 67 on the day.
The representative of the tournament sponsors Brewin Dolphin, namely, Kenneth McCaw stated that the company were delighted to be associated with such a prestigious tournament and wished the eventual winner Good Luck in the up coming Boys Home Internationals.
